- "Materials" — any templates, workbooks, printed documents, or digital files provided by Larkfield as part of a course.
- "Agreement" — these Terms and Conditions, together with any course enrolment confirmation.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By enquiring about or enrolling in a Larkfield course, you confirm that you have read these Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by them. Enrolment in a course constitutes a contract between you and Larkfield.
Courses are available to individuals aged 18 years and over. By enrolling you confirm that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement under Malaysian law.
3. Course Description and Availability
Larkfield offers financial education courses in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, conducted in person at our premises on Jalan Wong Ah Fook. Courses are delivered in English. Session dates and availability are confirmed at the time of enrolment.
We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel a course intake if minimum participant numbers are not reached, or in circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, participants will be offered an alternative intake date or a full refund.
4. Enrolment and Registration
Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of full payment and a written confirmation from Larkfield. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Completion of an enquiry form does not constitute a confirmed place.
Participants are responsible for providing accurate contact and payment information. If a spouse, partner, or other individual is attending the same intake, a separate enrolment and payment is required for each person.
5. Payment
Course fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of all course sessions and materials unless stated otherwise. Current fees are:
- Quiet Household Records: RM 720 per person
- Reading Financial Statements Without Background: RM 1,150 per person
- The Estate Document Folder: RM 2,250 per person
Payment is accepted by bank transfer. Payment details are provided in the enrolment confirmation. Full payment is required before the first session of any course. Enquiries about instalment arrangements for The Estate Document Folder may be addressed to us directly.
6. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellation by the Participant
- Cancellation more than fourteen days before the first session: full refund less an administrative fee of RM 80.
- Cancellation between seven and fourteen days before the first session: 50% refund.
- Cancellation less than seven days before the first session or after the course has commenced: no refund.
Participants who cannot attend a session may request session notes and materials for that session where these are available.
Cancellation by Larkfield
If Larkfield cancels a course intake for any reason other than participant conduct, a full refund of fees paid will be issued within fourteen business days.
7. Participant Conduct
Participants are expected to attend sessions with consideration for other participants and facilitators. Larkfield reserves the right to withdraw a participant from a course without refund where their conduct is disruptive or inappropriate. Personal financial information shared by other participants in group sessions is to be treated as confidential.
8. Intellectual Property
All course materials produced by Larkfield — including workbooks, templates, annotated examples, and session notes — remain the intellectual property of Larkfield. Participants receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use these materials for their own household and personal financial purposes. Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without the prior written consent of Larkfield.
9. Disclaimers
Larkfield courses are educational in nature. They do not constitute financial, legal, investment, or tax advice. Facilitators are educators, not licensed financial advisers or legal practitioners. Nothing in any course session or material should be treated as a recommendation to take any particular financial or legal action.
Whilst we take care to ensure course materials are current and accurate, we make no representation that the content of any course is complete, error-free, or suitable for your specific circumstances.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Larkfield's total liability to you in connection with any course shall not exceed the course fee paid by you. We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from your participation in a course or use of course materials.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Termination
Larkfield may withdraw a participant from a course where: (a) payment has not been received; (b) the participant's conduct is disruptive or in breach of these Terms; or (c) the course is cancelled by Larkfield. Where Larkfield terminates participation without cause, any unused portion of the fee will be refunded on a pro-rated basis.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be referred to informal resolution by written communication to Larkfield. If a resolution cannot be reached within thirty days, the parties may refer the matter to the relevant courts of Malaysia, with exclusive jurisdiction conferred on the courts of Johor Bahru.
Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or other relief from a court of competent jurisdiction.
13. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with any course enrolment confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between the parties in respect of course participation.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
- Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of any right to do so on a future occasion.
- Assignment: You may not assign your enrolment or any rights under these Terms to another person without our prior written consent.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on our website with the revised date. Material changes will be communicated to enrolled participants by email. Continued enrolment following the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
